➼ HVAC TECHNICIAN I – full-time/regular

The position is responsible for performing complete maintenance, operation, service, and repairs to a wide variety of complex commercial and industrial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, including but not limited to chillers, boilers, air handlers, heat pumps, circulation pumps, cooling coils, and refrigeration equipment. The HVAC Technician will test systems, adjust controls, balance flow, assure functionality, and have the ability to work with building automation systems (BAS).

Major Responsibilities:
• Inspect, maintain, and evaluate the operation of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment; lubricate bearings; check bearing temperature; check packing on chilled water and steam valves; and repair and diagnose issues with pneumatically and digitally controlled HVAC systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance inspections and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment.
• Perform coil cleaning or replacement and motor or belt replacement.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC equipment and related systems, including but not limited to boilers, pumps, chillers, air handlers, heat recovery ventilators, variable refrigerant flow systems, and dedicated outdoor air systems.
• Complete work orders and communicate the status when resolved or an update is appropriate.
• Respond to pressure, airflow, temperature, and humidity anomalies.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, sketches, and job specifications.
• Assist other trades as needed.

Required Knowledge and Skills:
• Ability to diagnose and repair systems and components related to the building automation systems.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
• Working knowledge of computers for tasks including reading email, logging hours, and entering work order information.
• Ability to work independently, but also an excellent collaborator and team player.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Ability to creatively overcome obstacles.
• Skilled in working with a diverse academic community and the ability to work with individuals or groups from diverse backgrounds.
• Knowledge of installations and repair of HVAC and Mechanical and Electrical systems.

Other Qualifications:
• On-the-job experience, Vocational School, or Associates Degree.
• Three years of related experience.
• Valid Driver’s License
• Refrigerant Certification


➼ HOUSEKEEPER I – Monday – Friday 4:00 am – 12:00 pm

This position is responsible for providing a clean, healthy, and well-maintained area of assignment. Working in accordance with established policies and procedures this position will perform manual work in a variety of cleaning duties in and around university buildings and facilities. This includes but not limited to classrooms, lab rooms, offices, residence halls, guest rooms, and restrooms. This role offers a pay rate of $15.50 per hour.

Major Responsibilities:
• Performs cleaning duties in areas as assigned such as; wash and sanitize toilets, sinks, showers, and restocking dispensers, straightening, dusting, wiping surfaces, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping floors, clean white/chalk boards, wash windows, wash walls, wash/wipe down trash cans, take out trash, etc.
• Unlock/lock buildings
• Keep interior and exterior entrances safe and clean
• Cleans spills, soiled areas and other conditions as observed and or directed
• Maintains all equipment and supplies in proper condition, and properly stored
• Ensures work areas are safe and strictly adheres to safety procedures regarding cleaners or equipment
• Stock all equipment and supply carts with adequate supplies
• Ensure cleaning schedules are followed
• Provide exceptional customer service
• Report maintenance and repair needs via the work order system
• Work with the Building Services Supervisor to promote safety
• Other duties as assigned
