This is your last chance to witness a total solar eclipse in the United States for at least 20 years – are you prepared for the experience? In a multimedia presentation spanning eclipse basics to advanced topics, you will get insights into what to expect during the eclipse, how to watch and photograph the eclipse without hurting your eyes or cameras, and why eclipses have captivated humanity for thousands of years. Bring your enthusiasm and questions and keep your fingers crossed for clear skies!

Maria Schwartzman Webb was raised in Columbus, Indiana. She graduated from Columbus East in 2006, DePauw University in 2010, and George Washington University in 2013. She currently teaches computer science at DePauw University and is a photographer specializing in landscape, nightscape, and travel photography. Schwartzman is passionate about all things space- and sky-related. She has personally witnessed one total solar eclipse (2017), one partial solar annular eclipse (2023), and three lunar eclipses (total 2019/2022, partial 2021).
