More About Honor the fallen during Memorial Day ceremony at Community Veterans Memorial Park
A ceremony honoring the fallen men and women of our nation’s armed forces will be held Monday, May 27 at the Edward P. Robinson Community Veterans Memorial Park.
Munster VFW Post 2697 and American Legion Post 16 will host the 11:30 a.m. Memorial Day ceremony at the park, 9710 Calumet Ave., Munster. The event will feature a traditional 21-gun salute with a ceremonial cannon beginning at noon, weather permitting.

Powers shared his vision to build the memorial with Edward P. Robinson. They formed a committee, consisting of mostly of veterans, that brought the vision to reality.
