More About Louisiana Railroad Days

Join the Louisiana Railroad Days Festival for its 44th celebration since it was established in the spring of 1984! The festival is held annually on the second weekend in April at the Railroad Museum Park in DeQuincy, Louisiana, with participation from many local businesses, clubs, churches, and schools. The festivities consist of delicious food vendors, arts and crafts booths, carnival rides, a grand parade, and free live entertainment for all ages. This year, the three-day event will run April 9-11, 2026.

Established by the Kansas City Southern Railroad in 1897, DeQuincy has a rich railroad heritage that continues to be honored through this family-friendly, alcohol-free festival. Visitors can expect exciting performances, children’s activities, model train exhibits, pageants, and community spirit on full display.

And while you're there, be sure to visit the DeQuincy Railroad Museum to learn more about the town’s fascinating railroad history and see one-of-a-kind exhibits.

The town of DeQuincy was established by the Kansas City Southern Railroad in 1897, according to historian Mr. T.J. Ratliff. Through the years, DeQuincy grew into a nice size community due to the jobs that the railroad provided. The Louisiana Railroad Days Festival has prided itself in being a free festival that is family oriented and allows no alcohol.
