● TIME: Dance 5:00-7:00 pm
● WHERE: Grange Hall, 1067 State Rd, West Tisbury, MA 02575
● COMMUNITY SHINDIG: In the tradition of New England’s earliest settlers, Martha's Vineyard Preservation Trust invite you to a New England Contra Dance to celebrate the traditions of the Grange Hall as part of the fundraising campaign launch to restore/rejuvenate the historic Hall. No partner or experience necessary!!
● THIS IS so wicked fun!! It is the most fun you can have with your clothes on!

● LIVE MUSIC by: "THE FLYING ELBOWS" Formed in 1976, and Martha's Vineyard's favorite string band, they are a community tradition! They are: Nancy Jephcote, fiddle, Bob Hammond, fiddle and banjo, Paul Thurlow, bass, Brian Weiland, percussion and mandolin, Tom Hodgson guitar.
● CO-CALLERS: DON HEINOLD & JEN JASENSKI! Don hailing from Rhode Island, has been calling at dances, weddings & parties all over New England for about 15 years and as a dancer for over 40 years. Don is a former substitute math teacher and also known for teaching the Rotary (country) Waltz.
JEN hailing from Connecticut, Jen is a former Spanish teacher who came to contra dance via swing dance over twenty years ago. Having found herself calling while dancing to help dancers, in 2019 she decided to take one of renowned caller Bob Isaacs’ Learn to Call classes and is now a regular in Connecticut. She has also called in MA and NJ.
● ADMISSION: Free but Donations welcomed! Cash, Venmo, and credit card is accepted at the door. BYE (bring your own everything) Proceeds to support the Grange Hall Project!
● PARKING: plenty of free parking on-site.
● CLOTHING & FOOTWEAR: Clothing is casual. Please wear shoes that move easily on the floor (rubber soled sneaker are discouraged but some do wear them even though it makes dancing harder).
