More About Children's Theatre: Rapunzel
The story of Rapunzel is a well-known German fairytale published by Brothers Grimm in 1812. It tells the story of a young girl with exceptionally long hair, locked away in a tower by a witch named Mother Gothel. A prince, hearing her singing, discovers her and begins a secret romance, which leads to a plan for escape. However, the evil witch discovers their plan and punishes them, with the prince blinded and Rapunzel in exile. Ultimately, Rapunzel's tears restore the prince's sight, the witch is defeated, and they return to his kingdom to live happily ever after.
