More About LA Fur & Wildlife Festival

Billed as the "oldest and coldest" festival in Southwest Louisiana, the Louisiana Fur & Wildlife Festival offers an authentic and exciting celebration of the region’s heritage, culture, and outdoor traditions. This family-friendly event, held annually in Cameron, features a little something for everyone.

Visitors can enjoy a parade, pageants, a gumbo cook-off, live Cajun music, a 5K and 1-mile run/walk, an antique vehicle showcase, and a carnival with amusement rides. For those seeking unique experiences, the festival boasts exciting competitions like duck and goose calling, trap shooting, trap setting, quail flush, oyster shucking, trap setting, and even nutria and muskrat skinning.
