In honor of the legacy of the late Tejano superstar Selena Quintanilla, Genessa & The Selena Experience brings a powerful, high-energy tribute to Paramount Hudson Valley on May 2. Formed on the 20th anniversary of Selena’s passing, this extraordinary ensemble of musicians hails from New York City—long considered a mecca for elite tribute and cover bands. Fronted by the electrifying Genessa Escobar, the band recreates the look, sound, and spirit of Selena with stunning authenticity, transporting audiences back to the era when she dominated the charts and the stage. For Genessa, this tribute is deeply personal. Growing up as a Colombian-American young woman, her musical influences ranged from Gwen Stefani to Mariah Carey—until discovering Selena, who became a defining inspiration. Selena’s style, charisma, and music shaped Genessa’s artistic identity, laying the foundation for a career that has included national touring with the all-girl pop group 3rd Faze, appearances on American Idol and It’s Showtime at the Apollo, and work as a background vocalist on UK pop star Cheryl Cole’s album 3 Words. Today, that lifelong admiration comes full circle in a tribute that feels both reverent and electrifying. Under the direction of bassist and bandleader Lenny Rocillo, each musician was hand-picked to deliver unmatched precision, professionalism, and passion. This is far more than a concert—it’s an immersive experience inspired by the immense popularity of Selena’s iconic Live! album, expanded into a visually and musically thrilling production.
