More About Biesecker Library: Spring History Speaker Series for Celebrating America
This spring, the Mary S. Biesecker Public Library is celebrating America's 250th anniversary with a special Spring History Speaker Series. Join us on Thursdays at 6:00 pm for a series of FREE lectures on early American history in Somerset County.
The series will conclude on May 28th with a joint presentation from Bill Lehman and Stewart Saylor of the local Sons of the American Revolution chapter. Bill will provide information about the SAR’s efforts to create a Revolutionary War monument. Stewart will then provide a talk about Jacob Shallus, the “Man Behind the Quill” who served as the engrosser of the original Constitution of the United States.
This speaker series is funded in part by a grant from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts and the Community Foundation for the Alleghenies, a PCA partner. All of these lectures are free and open to the public. To sign up, call the Biesecker Library at 814-445-4011 or use our online form: Click for Details
