More About Team Neville Concerts
In 1985 Chester and Susan Neville, along with their son Jeph, moved to Fresno to open The Video Zone. After several years they had 4 stores in Fresno, Clovis and Madera, operating as The Video Park. These stores were set apart by their size, (11 to 15 thousand sq ft,) and design, incorporating a park like setting with a theatre marquee for classic films, a haunted house for horror, and a western town for the westerns. They had these stores for 9 years before selling to Hollywood Video in 1994, when the video business was beginning to wane.
They took the proceeds from that sale and opened The Laser’s Edge in Fig Garden Village, selling Laser Disc movies and music CDs. That business introduced them to Scott Pederson of Scottland Concerts, who was putting on the inaugural show at The Rotary Amphitheater in Woodward Park. That began a 25 year friendship and partnership that continues to this day.
In 2003, Susan went to work for The Tower Theatre in the box office. She soon was the box office and event manager for The Tower Theatre. During this time Chester and Susan began promoting shows at the theatre, including “1964,” Y&T, Dave Mason, Jim Messina, Janis Ian and many others. Chester began to look into using the lounge for smaller shows, like Maria Muldaur, Duke Robillard, The Levin Brothers and more. The lounge became a magic place for performers and the audience alike.
Meanwhile Jeph Neville went to work as a stage hand and worked his way up to becoming the Technical Director and Lighting Designer for the Tower Theatre. During this time they all continued to work with Scottland Concerts on shows in Hanford, Lake Tahoe, Half Moon Bay, and Newport Beach. Along the way “TeamNeville” was born.
With the Covid outbreak in 2020, the theatre and the lounge went dark and so did TeamNeville. The Painted Table (which was located next to The Tower Theatre) had just purchased Tornino’s Banquet Hall at 5080 N Blackstone and felt TeamNeville would be a good fit to present their shows. TeamNeville, having worked in many venues of the like with Scottland Concerts, agreed this would be a nice fit to move forward presenting shows.
We hope to continue to provide the best in concert entertainment for years to come.
