More About South Coast Book Festival
The South Coast Book Festival is the BIGGEST book event of SWLA! This day of literary fun for all ages is coming to Lake Charles, LA on September 12, 2026 at the Lake Charles Event Center on the second and third floors. The South Coast Book Festival (formerly the Southwest Louisiana Family Book Festival) was formed over ten years ago by community volunteers who wanted to enrich the community with more opportunities to engage in reading and literacy. For all attendees, the festival will provide them with the opportunity to experience a unique event focused on the literary arts. The South Coast Book Festival (SCBF) will also help guests learn about publications by local and regional authors; products or services from local businesses; and local cultures and traditions.
The festival is jam-packed with awesome activities for kids and adults, featured local authors, and food vendors from all over SWLA. Bring a tote bag -- we're 99.9% sure you'll be leaving with tons of books and treats! Check out the details below:
