More About The Planets

Gustav Holst's The Planets is a vivid orchestral work with seven movements, each depicting a different celestial body, creating an emotionally gripping journey through the cosmos. The evening also features Chamber Symphony by James Lee III, a contemporary piece co-commissioned by the Acadiana Symphony Orchestra. The event showcases the full power and color of the modern symphony orchestra.

The mission of the Acadiana Symphony & Conservatory of Music is to provide excellence in orchestral performances of diverse repertoire and educational experiences for the inspiration and enrichment of the community.

Acadiana Symphony Orchestra is one of only two in the United States that is associated with a Conservatory of Music. This unique partnership sets ASO apart from other symphony organizations in the country. The mission of the ASO, and its Conservatory is unified in order to achieve a cohesive approach in the development of high quality performances and educational programs.
