More About Girls Rock Bloomington Showcase
Come see 9 newly formed camper bands (ages 7-14) perform an original song written at Girls Rock camp in the week leading up to the showcase! There will also be 2 AMPS bands (Adolescent Music Program Support) performing original songs and a Volunteer Cover Band. Plus, a photo booth with fun instrument props and a dance party after the show! All ages welcome.
This is a free un-ticketed event! Donations to Girls Rock are encouraged at the door or you can donate in advance at the following link: Click for Details
All funds raised this evening will be generously matched by Secretly Group- allowing us the opportunity to fund our year-round programming and next year’s summer camp!
Thank you so much to our sponsors:
Bloomington Arts Commission, Indiana Art Commission, Community Kitchen, Hopscotch Coffee, Badknees, Buskirk-Chumley Theater, Better Distractions, and Secretly Group!
The mission of Girls Rock Bloomington is to teach positive self-esteem and self-expression through music education and mentoring to girls, trans, and non-binary youth (ages 8-14) through our annual summer camp, workshops, after-school programs and more.
At GRB, we believe music can be a powerful tool for self-expression and empowerment. Participants’ ages range from 8-14, which are pivotal years for building confidence and community. For many of our participants, this is one of the first times they are able to express themselves in a creative and collaborative environment, let alone have the opportunity to try out a new instrument. Through GRB, we are working to shape a music scene in which collaboration, celebration of our differences and the joy of creativity are uplifted for all. Girls Rock Bloomington is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.
