More About Night Sky Viewing
Are you an amateur astronomer or simply curious about the night sky? Members of the Indiana Astronomical Society will provide a variety of telescopes and equipment so you can learn more about the tools used in stargazing. If you own a telescope you would like to learn more about, bring it along and don't forget the manual. After sunset, you'll be able to view Mars, galaxies, and star clusters with knowledgeable members of IAS.
All participants should plan to arrive no later than 9:15 p.m., but arriving between 8:15-9:15 p.m. will let you see and compare the telescopes in daylight. Registering in advance prevents waiting in line to register onsite. This program is weather dependent. If cloud cover is questionable, all pre-registered participants will be notified the afternoon of the program. If the program is cancelled, it will be posted on the Bloomington Parks social media.
