
More About 250th Anniversary Reading of the Declaration of Independence at Stamford History Center
Celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence with a special event on the Steps of Hoyt-Barnum, Stamford’s oldest dwelling. The event features General Putnam, portrayed by Rick Petersen, traveling through time to invite notable figures like Frederick Douglass and Elizabeth Cady Stanton to deliver speeches. Enjoy house tours, patriotic performances, and family-friendly activities. Free admission, with house tours available for $5.
