More About If Patchwork Were a Storyteller

Opening August 20the in the Gibson-Barham Gallery, If Patchwork Were a Storyteller showcases the remarkable textile collage work of Lake Charles artist Monette Bourque.

A self-taught artist, Bourque transforms vintage quilts, hand-stitched linens, and cherished textiles into heirloom-inspired works of art. Drawing inspiration from nature, travel, and family history, her pieces preserve the stories woven into these fabrics while giving them new life through thoughtful composition and craftsmanship.

Join us for the Opening Reception on August 20 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. The reception is free and open to the public.
