Throughout the night, you’ll hear from one of our newest family, Carolyn and Rashad, who will share how having a safe, stable home will forever change the life of their autistic daughter and strengthen their family’s future. It’s a powerful reminder of why this work matters and the real lives behind every home we build, renovate, or repair.
We are also proud to recognize our 2026 Builder of Hope Honoree, Lisa Weisenberger. As the founder of Discover Danbury & Candlewood Lake, Lisa has created a local networking and community engagement group that brings people together, supports local businesses, elevates nonprofit organizations, and inspires meaningful community involvement. She leads, she serves, and she inspires.
This year’s event is especially meaningful as we celebrate 35 years of Housatonic Habitat for Humanity and 50 years of Habitat for Humanity International, milestones that reflect decades of opening the door to homeownership, hope, stability, and opportunity for families in our community.
Every moment of the evening supports our work to provide safe, affordable housing and the resources families need to thrive. Because when we build homes, we build something far greater. We build futures.
Our work extends far beyond construction. Housatonic Habitat families participate in financial wellness and homeownership education designed to help them build strong financial foundations, prepare for the responsibilities of homeownership, and achieve long-term stability for generations to come.
