Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths in Indiana- but it doesn't have to be. Most people do not experience symptoms until the disease is advanced, when treatment options are limited. That is why early detection through low-dose CT screening is critical, it can find lung cancer when it is most treatable.
Lung screening is:
Fast- Takes less than 10 minutes
Simple- No needles, no prep, no change of clothes
Effective- Detects cancer early when it is most treatable
Covered by most insurance including Medicare and Medicaid (assistance available if uninsured)
Lung screening eligibility requirements (must meet both)
History of smoking 20 pack years (average packs per day multiplied by the number of years smoking)
Between the ages of 50-77
