Learning with Nature | Monarch Migration

Join Grace Farms Horticulture Director Kimberly Kelly and experts from Kansas State University for a hands-on field study to safely record, tag, and release monarch butterflies throughout Grace Farms 80 acres of landscape. Learn how to net, tag, and record Monarchs in a way that supports the best outcome for healthy butterflies to survive migration, winter, the flight north in late spring, and successful reproduction in late summer. This workshop ends with a cup of butterfly pea flower tea and a culinary treat in the Commons. The event aims to support monarch butterfly populations, which have declined by nearly 90%, through participation in the Monarch Watch program.
