More About Immaculate Conception Cemetery Tour

Immaculate Conception Cemetery was originally established by Immaculate Conception Church, which is now part of St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish, in 1895. The cemetery holds the stories of many Irish and Italian American families who came to the United States in the early 20th century. Overseen by the Archdiocese of Newark, the cemetery has grown into a place of community and tradition. On this guided tour we will investigate historic gravestone art and share stories of legendary locals like Montclair's own World Series player, Notre Dame's first Heisman Trophy winner, “The King of Italian-American Music," one of the greatest ragtime composers, and the artist behind the Pennsylvania Railroad's iconic calendar paintings.

Led by MHC Executive Director Angelica Diggs, Educator Julia Chryc, and Board of Trustee Donato DiGeronimo. The tour is about 1 mile of walking.

Tickets are $20/person ($15 for members - contact our office for the code). Tickets are required in advance. Register here: Click for Details
