THE HANOVER SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA BRASS QUINTET will perform for the Fine Arts at First Concert Series at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 21 S. Bedford St., Carlisle on Sunday, September 20 at 3 P.M. Featuring the principal players of the four brass instruments in the orchestra, the Brass Quintet performers are Larry Kuntz (HSO’s music director), trumpet; Laura Sterner, trumpet; William Smith, French horn; Shaine Lepley, trombone; and Joe Mummert, tuba. They recently performed in the Hanover Area Historical Society’s “Lawn Concerts at the Mansion” series and partnered for concerts with the Keystone Brass of York, PA and the National Christian Choir. The concert is a benefit for the Central PA Food Bank founded in 1982 and dedicated to ending hunger in Central Pennsylvania. Fine Arts at First is the artist series at First Lutheran Church, Carlisle whose mission is to enrich the cultural and spiritual experience of our audiences through the arts by presenting distinguished guest artists known locally, nationally, and internationally. Performances are presented in our nave filled with history, unique architecture, and a magnificent pipe organ. All concerts are free and open to the public. A reception is hosted by the Fine Arts Committee following each event.
