Birding at the Bartlett

Join expert birder, David Warne, for a morning walk around the Bartlett grounds to look for rare bird sightings and other signs of bird activity. September brings the excitement of fall migration to the Bartlett Arboretum, as birds begin their journey south for the winter. The Arboretum’s trees, gardens, and natural areas provide important places for migrating birds to rest and refuel along the way. Look for warblers, vireos, thrushes, and other songbirds passing through, alongside familiar year-round residents like Eastern Bluebirds and Cedar Waxwings. With new arrivals moving through throughout the month, September is an especially rewarding time to grab your binoculars and see who’s stopping by. Please wear sturdy footwear and weather-appropriate outdoor clothing. Binoculars are welcome.
