Atlanta is home to many beloved holiday traditions, but starting Dec. 5, 2026, audiences can experience something entirely new.
Mirth & Mischief Productions presents JOIE at Callanwolde Fine Arts Center (running Dec. 5, 2026 – Jan. 3, 2027)—a monthlong, site-specific holiday production combining live theater, mansion-wide storytelling, and an illuminated outdoor winter festival.
Designed for families, theater lovers, and holiday enthusiasts alike, JOIE unfolds across three immersive environments:
The JOIE Mainstage Show: Located in Callanwolde's indoor courtyard, this mainstage experience delivers live Broadway-caliber singers, aerial and Cirque acrobats, live instrumentation, and uplifting holiday story arcs.
Interactive Mansion Experience: Guests wander through historic halls filled with music, interactive comedy, and puppetry. Highlights include original characters like Ded Zed (a vegan holiday zombie) and Professor Asa Fizzwik, brought to life by Muppet legend Steve Whitmire alongside custom puppets built by former Muppet workshop artisans.
The Winter Wonderland Light Forest: Outdoors on Callanwolde's sprawling grounds, guests will find glowing light displays, video mapping, fire arts, a caroling bonfire, a Snow Play Park, and seasonal photo ops.
Giving Back to Atlanta: JOIE is a celebration with a cause—10% of every ticket sold directly funds local arts education initiatives and youth creative programs across metro Atlanta through Mirth Makers.
