Blessing of the Animals at First Congregational Church of Greenwich

On Saturday, October 3, from 10 a.m. until 12 noon, The First Congregational Church of Greenwich
will host its annual Blessing of the Animals. The community is invited to bring their pet (dog, cat,
fish, hamster – you name it) for a blessing with Pastor Patrick Collins and Pastor Cydney Van Dyke
on the church’s front lawn.

The annual tradition finds it roots in the book of Genesis: “God lovingly created all of the creatures of
the earth, He blessed them and declared that they were good.” Pastor Patrick Collins says “We have
been offering this blessing for the past several years and it has grown each year. The weather
promises to be great, and it’s a chance for the local community to gather together, connect with each
other, and bond over the love of their family pets.”

First Congregational Church of Greenwich is located at 108 Sound Beach Avenue in Old Greenwich.
