More About Barry University Health, Arts & Spirituality Inaugural Summit

Barry University invites you to the inaugural Health, Arts, & Spirituality Summit on Thursday, November 5, 2026. More than 600 guests from Miami-Dade and Broward will come together to explore how health, the arts, and spirituality intersect, and how that intersection strengthens well-being in the communities we serve.

Delivering the keynote is Dr. Jill Sonke, a US Cultural Policy Fellow with Stanford University and Co-director of the EpiArts Lab, a National Endowment for the Arts Research Lab. She also serves as Director of Research Initiatives in the University of Florida Center for Arts in Medicine. An artist and researcher with more than 30 years of leadership in arts and health and more than 150 publications, Dr. Sonke served as a senior advisor to the CDC during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The program runs from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and includes Mass and Blessing at Cor Jesu Chapel and programming at the Shepard & Ruth K. Broad Performing Arts Center, 11300 NE 2nd Avenue, Miami Shores, FL 33161. The celebration continues with a Campus Mall gathering at 4:00 p.m. with a performance by Latin Grammy Award Winner Nestor Torres.

The summit is made possible through the generous support of the Acacia Charitable Fund and its founder, Daniel León, MBA, and Heather J. Rohan ’77, MBA ’89, Chairperson of the Barry University Board of Trustees. Join us for a day of reflection, inspiration, and connection. Reserve your complimentary seat by submitting your RSVP at barry.edu/HAS.
