Downtown Chandler Fine Art & Wine Festival

Thunderbird Artists is excited to return to the newly renovated Dr AJ Chandler Park West for the 6th Annual Downtown Chandler Fine Art & Wine Festival, February 26th, 27th & 28th, 2027! Known for showcasing exceptional artists, Thunderbird Artists Festivals’ host diverse artworks, including paintings, sculptures, and so much more.

Thunderbird Artists delivers an unparalleled experience for both artists and collectors. More than a showcase for breathtaking original works, our festivals invite art enthusiasts to discover and acquire one-of-a-kind pieces that speak to their personal style. With a relentless dedication to excellence, Thunderbird Artists continues to set the standard as a premier organizer of fine art events in the Southwest. The 501(c)(3) partner for this event is the Downtown Chandler Community Partnership (DCCP), a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing Downtown Chandler as a regional destination for shopping, dining, living, culture, and the arts.

Art:
Step into a Collector's Paradise with Thunderbird Artists, where quality and diversity take center stage. Explore an extraordinary selection of original works, including vibrant paintings in oil, acrylic, pastel, and watercolor; exquisite drawings in ink, pencil, and charcoal; breathtaking photography; stunning sculptures in stone, bronze, metal, glass, wood, and clay; and unique, handcrafted, one-of-a-kind jewelry.

Wine and Spirits: Combining world-class fine art with an extensive selection of domestic and imported wines has long been Thunderbird Artists’ winning formula. This year’s participating wineries are Celestial Artisan Meadery, King Frosch, Schlossadler International, Sete Wines, The Shepard Collection, Sunbeat Cellars and Wilson Creek. As for spirits and beer, Carefree Spirits, Desert Diamond Distillery, and Outlaw Distillery hold up the spirit end, while Pedal Haus Brewing and San Tan Brewing provide ice cold microbrews. For an additional $30 fee, patrons receive an engraved souvenir glass with ten tasting tickets; unlike festivals with designated drinking areas, Thunderbird Artists events have patrons wandering at will, sipping wine and surrounding themselves in phenomenal art.

Thunderbird Artists’ Festival’s Featured Artist for Chandler: Painter, Ans Carnes

Ans is known for bright and contemporary wildlife portraits that capture the life and motion of her subjects. Her signature series feature large, colorful hummingbirds. She uses high quality oils to depict the character of birds, horses in motion, and other critters in her unique way: by combining bold brushstrokes and glazed layers she portrays the essence of a buzzing hummingbird, a galloping horse, quirky quails, or a swooping owl. Her colorful art is vibrant and uplifting, anchored in her faith and joy in creation.

Ans was born and raised in Bavaria, Germany, and spent some years living in various US states and Japan before settling down in the mountains of Arizona. She has been living off her art in various ways all her life, but found new inspiration to fully dive back into fine oils through her passion for her new home Arizona.

By a series of coincidences Ans met her husband Matthew at a local Bible study on the mountain. He soon became her biggest supporter and then joined her art career full time in 2024. Matt and Ans extended their reach and do art shows in various states like Colorado, California, Nevada and New Mexico.
