More About LC Mardi Gras Parade & Zydeco Dance

Get ready for a full day of Mardi Gras magic in Lake Charles, packed with parades, Zydeco, and family fun. 2027 event details are pending. See below for a recap of last year's event and what can be expected this year.

The celebration kicks off with the Lake Charles Mardi Gras Chicken Run & Pig Chase Parade, rolling out at 12:00 PM from the Lake Charles Event Center (900 Lakeshore Dr.). This lively 4.1-mile parade route travels east down Broad Street, turns north on Enterprise Boulevard, then heads west onto Mill Street before heading back to the Event Center. Expect colorful floats, energetic ATVs, horses, and plenty of Mardi Gras flair filling the streets of Lake Charles.

Once the parade wraps, the party moves to the legendary Habibi Shriners Center (2928 Pack Road, Lake Charles, LA 70615) for the official after-party. Doors open at 3:00 PM, with DJ Lil Jack setting the tone for an afternoon of dancing and celebration. Live Zydeco music kicks in at 4:00 PM with Step Rideau, followed by Rusty Metoyer & the Zydeco Crush from 6:00–9:00 PM, bringing high-energy Southwest Louisiana sounds to the dance floor.

Don’t miss the always-popular Chicken Run & Pig Chase, starting at 4:00 PM. Kids can compete in the Chicken Run for a chance to win $50, while the Pig Run winner takes home $100—or keeps the pig!

Fuel up with free gumbo, catch the Super Bowl live on a projector inside, and enjoy a full day of Mardi Gras tradition with a local twist.

This family-friendly event is open to all ages, with security enforced for a safe and fun experience. Cash is accepted at the door.
