Silver Shield Foundation Greenwich Walk Returns to Tod’s Point

When a police officer, firefighter, or EMS member dies in the line of duty, the people left behind face a loss that extends well past the first days and weeks. For many of those families, the question of how a child will pay for school is one more weight to carry. The Silver Shield Foundation exists to take that question off their hands, and each year a walk in Old Greenwich helps fund the answer.

The 7th Annual Silver Shield Foundation Greenwich Walk takes place Saturday, November 7, 2026, at Tod’s Point Park, 7 Tod’s Driftway, Old Greenwich, CT. Registration is open. The course is 2.5 miles, and each walker is asked to raise a minimum of $100, with a T-shirt provided. Proceeds support the Silver Shield Foundation’s educational support and services for the children and surviving spouses of police officers, firefighters, and EMS members killed in the line of duty. Park rules apply, so pets are not permitted. Register at: silvershieldfoundation.org/greenwich-walk. Questions go to KC Fuchs at the Silver Shield Foundation, 203-570-2848 or kcfuchs@silvershieldfoundation.org.
