Born as the third child, I learned observational skills early. My commitment to value-based healthcare started in my childhood observing my physician mother's relentless efforts in preventing sickness and promoting health in a small town in India.
After my medical education in India and post-graduate training in Internal Medicine at the University of Illinois in Chicago, I grabbed on to the first opportunity that came my way, as a young mother and a young physician, to drive a different type of healthcare- one that prevents sickness and promotes health. I chose to pursue my calling here at my home away from home - NorthWest Indiana.
This community enriched my purpose and supported my efforts in driving awareness of preventive healthcare. My team which started as a one-woman army quickly grew to a team that currently includes multiple nurse practitioners, physicians, and ancillary staff with aligned passion and purpose.
I am humbled by the experiences of the last 2 decades and proud of Dr. Mary Tilak and Associates. Dr. Mary Tilak and Associates, now with physicians and nurse practitioners board certified in a diverse group of primary care specialties including Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, and Obesity Medicine, is aligned in the singular purpose of creating healthy families and happy communities.
