More About History at Home: Carnegie's Gift to Montclair: The History of the Bellevue Avenue Branch Library
A violent labor strike, a private meeting in Andrew Carnegie’s home office, a petition by Upper Montclair residents, and the emergence of a new profession for women all played into the creation of the Bellevue Avenue Branch Library, a jewel-box of a building and community resource that will celebrate its 110th birthday this year. This program will be presented by Lisanne Renner, a founding member of Friends of Anderson Park and the historian for that conservancy.
