H.E. Talks Movie Experience

Holistic Evolution is taking 420 back for health and we are looking for your support in doing so! Many may relate 420 as the national weed smoking holiday, but the H.E. community is taking it back for health! We are using April 20th and 21st as an opportunity to promote good health behaviors in the community, specifically to the population we support young men of color 16-24 yrs old. We will use this weekend as an opportunity to educate the community on the social determinants of health (conditions in the places where people live, learn, work, play, and worship that affect a wide range of health risks and outcomes)and how addressing communal disparities will support Northwest Indiana in obtaining equitable health outcomes. Sunday April 21st
Holistic Evolution will host the “H.E. Talks” Green Carpet Movie Premier where we will debut the H.E. Talks Movie at Indiana University Northwest Bergland Hall on 3400 Broadway, Gary IN, 46408 from 3:00pm to 6:00pm. This is the edited version of 4 barbershop talks focused on mental health promotion, suicide prevention, substance misuse prevention and youth violence prevention. We curated activities in between each section of the movie to reinforce knowledge gained in viewing the movie. Primarily, identifying and implementing healthy coping strategies.
