More About Stars, Stripes, & Smiles: 250 Fun Day!

Join us for a ribbon cutting at 9:45 to unveil a portion of our new trail and follow with guided hikes across the property!
After the Trailblazing 250 Guided Hikes on the new Forest Evolution Trail, stick around for a fun celebration of America 250! We’re joining in the commemoration of the nations 250th anniversary!
Visitors can explore our three museums which include the Farmhouse Museum – originally built c.1780 by Edward Grimes a Lt. in the Revolutionary War and expanded in 1822 and c.1880; The Pennsylvania Bank style Barn also built by Edward Grimes c. 1780, which will feature local vendors on the upper level and the Agriculture Museum in the lower level with a new Exhibit focusing on Edward Grimes and the history of the Mount Savage Area in the late 1700’s; and the Coal Camp featuring a blacksmith shop, recreated mine opening, boarding house, and small mine museum.
The fun continues with:
Kids Activities including hoop rolling, make & take sweet bags, and JTF inflatables
Food Vendors including Sweet Cravings
Live Music by Day Old News
Historical Cooking Demos such as pickling and sauerkraut!
Presentation by the Sons of the American Revolution
