About Essex County Summer Players Orchestra

Founded in 2001, the Essex County Summer Players Orchestra is now in its 17th season — its 13th under the direction of Maestra Karen Pinoci. It is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization providing opportunities, to amateur and professional musicians alike, for substantive music making during the summer months. Participants from Essex County and the surrounding areas include students and retirees of all ages and abilities. The orchestra pursues excellence in the performance of challenging and innovative programs encompassing traditional and contemporary styles. It seeks to include works by local composers and to engage local soloists.
Averaging 60 members, the orchestra usually rehearses for two months on Tuesday evenings at Livingston High School. A concert, free of charge to the public, follows at the end of the season, generally on a Sunday afternoon. For more info, email
