More About Aureus Saltus Amtgard
Amtgard is a medieval foam combat/boffer fighting sport. This means that during our meets we set up games consisting of people fighting one another with foam weapons, shields, real armor and more. Some games even allow for the use of magic and class abilities, creating a fantasy and role-play friendly atmosphere.
Amtgard isn't just about the combat, however, and is also a great place for those interested in the arts and sciences! We encourage people to learn and teach different arts and crafts such as leather-working, sewing, knitting, painting, writing, cooking, singing, dancing, metal-working, etc. Through these crafts, one can both show off their skills, and even earn awards for their efforts, both through practice and competition!
In general, Amtgard is great for socializing, exercising and learning. People are given the opportunity to step into leadership positions within our groups, run events, and more. We as an organization believe that it is important for people to actively participate within the community, and every year we host a "Food Fight" where we collect and donate both money and food for food banks throughout the United States.

The Barony of Aureus Saltus, meets every Sunday at Hidden Valley Park in Martinez, Ca from 11:30AM to Dusk. We would love to have you come out and join us during our meets, the group is completely free to join/play and no experience with any of the above is required! If you aren't interested in the combat or the arts and sciences, we are also a fantastic place to socialize, so don't be afraid to check us out!
