Under the IRS 509(a)2 provision, the Helping Hand Fund allows tax-deductible gifts to be made, which can then be used to help needy families and to provide education on preventive health care options so pets can lead a longer, more comfortable life.
Pending available funds, assistance is granted after applicants complete a needs assessment, which must be approved by the Funding Committee.
Money from the Helping Hand Fund supports service and rescue organizations in the Treasure Valley. A percentage of donated funds is available to other non-profit organizations for discounted veterinary services for needy animals.
