The UCPS Book Bus is rolling out free books at MAFC this summer. This Wednesday, August 5 from 1pm – 2pm is the last chance until next year for your elementary age children to hop aboard the specially transformed bus and select a book suitable for their age at no cost. The Book Bus is open to MAFC members as well as the public!
The grandest pool party of the year is rescheduled for this Saturday, August 8. Join us at the “Water Park Splash Bash” from 11am – 2pm for patriotic contests, prizes, crafts, delicious food, and special discounted guest fees. Donate school supplies for additional raffle entries and grab lunch from Stacey's Place Food Truck. Presented alongside Thirvent, this event is open to MAFC members and their guests. Reduced fee of just $5 for the day for guests accompanied by a member.
The OneBlood Big Red Bus will be on-site at MAFC from 1pm - 6pm on Monday, August 10. All donors receive a $20 eGift card, Bid Red Bus t-shirt, and a wellness checkup including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, iron count, and cholesterol screening. MAFC is pleased to host a Hornets Hoops Summer Basketball Camp on August 10- 14 from 9am until 4pm. The Charlotte Hornets provide the ultimate basketball camp experience in a fun, safe, and inclusive environment. The Hornets Hoops camps are for boys and girls ages 7-14 of all skill levels. Swim lessons are back and available for MAFC members 6 months old and up! This 6-week session starts the week of August 24 and ends October 5. The online request form opens on Monday, August 10 at 10 AM and closes Sunday, August 16 at 11:59 PM. Completing the online form enters your swimmer into a lottery for swim class placement. Requests for private swim lessons also open on August 10.
MAFC members and the community can prevent medication misuse by dropping off expired or unused medication at our Medication Take Back event on Wednesday, August 19 from 9am – 12pm in the MAFC lobby.
Mindful Meditation - Join us for a half hour of guided meditation on Saturday, August 22 from 10:30am - 11:00am. Designed to help you reset and recharge for the season ahead, your mind and body will thank you! Please bring your own personal yoga mat. Registration required at the front desk. Class limited to 20 participants.
Lap swimming at the water park is a fantastic way to stay fit and cool off during the summer months! Time is reserved for lap swimmers only Friday mornings from 8am-9:30am. The last day for water park lap swim is August 21.
Let’s celebrate completion of the first week of school. Registration is open for the Back to School Edition of PARENT'S NIGHT OUT on Friday, August 28 from 5pm – 9pm! Parents, enjoy a date night or just a quiet night at home while your kids spend the evening with us! Kids will swim, do a craft, have a pizza dinner, and play games in the gymnasium. Register at the front desk. Event is also open to non-members, so bring a friend! The cost is $25 per child for members and $35 for non-members.
We are “Making Waves for America” at our 2026 Senior Day. Members 50+ can register to join us at the water park on Friday, September 4 from 9:30am until 2pm. We’ll dive into a day of fun exclusively for you. Please register at the front desk.
Join us for an evening of fun and frights MAFC’s Trunk or Treat! On Friday, October 23, starting at 6:30 PM, our Upper Parking Lot will transform into a Halloween haven filled with creatively decorated car trunks and sweet treats. Little ghouls and goblins are encouraged to wear their costumes, and food trucks will be on site to satisfy your monstrous appetites. Remember, 15 minutes of exercise equals 1 mile, and every workout counts when logged and stamped by our friendly MAFC staff. Pick up your fitness log at the MAFC front desk! Complete the challenge to earn a custom T-shirt, America250 Finisher’s medal, and a chance to win incredible prizes like a FREE 3-MONTH MEMBERSHIP, 30-minute massage, and more! The Reading Reef – Where Books Make a Splash. Located in the hallway outside of Tot’s Corner, The Reading Reef is a children’s book exchange. Our youngest members can take a book or leave a book. There is no check out system and they don’t have to return the book.
Be our Guest! – MAFC welcomes guests of members. If you would love to bring a friend to enjoy our facility, please use this link to view our guest policy and rates. Non-members must be accompanied by a member and pay a rate of $15/day.

Racquetball Challenge Nights - Monday and Thursday evenings from 5:30pm – 9:30pm are reserved for friendly competition between members. No reservations are required. This is a great way to meet other racquetball players at your skill level.
Knitting Club – First and Third Wednesdays, 1:00pm – 2:00pm in the Activity Room. Bring your own supplies as Nurse Sheila and Nurse Tracey instruct you through various knitting projects and techniques. FREE on-going event open to MAFC members.
Parkinson’s Exercise Class – Tuesdays & Thursdays, 10:30am – 11:30am. Class is open to the public, but registration is required by contacting our Novant Wellness Center at 704-282-4693.
