Leonard J. Buck Garden to Host Spring Plant Sale on April 27 and 28

Free Nature Tours Are Available

FAR HILLS, NJ – Celebrate spring and Earth Day by purchasing plants for your yard at the Leonard J. Buck Garden plant sale where there will be a variety of spectacular plants available. The event will take place on Saturday, April 27, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, April 28, from 12 to 5 p.m. at the rock garden, located at 11 Layton Road, Far Hills, NJ 07931.

Visitors will love the selection of perennials, ferns, woody plants, and hypertufa planting troughs. There also will be free guided tours of the magnificent naturalistic rock garden each day at 1 p.m.

The Watnong Chapter of the North American Rock Garden Society (NARGS) of Morristown, New Jersey co-sponsor this event along with the Somerset County Park Commission and Leonard J. Buck Garden.

Members of NARGS study, conserve, and cultivate many interesting plants, from various ecosystems such as high alpine peaks, bogs, woodlands, and deserts as well as plants found in the most at-risk environments.

About Leonard J. Buck Garden
Leonard J. Buck Garden is one of the finest rock gardens in the eastern United States. The garden consists of alpines and woodlands situated in a 33-acre valley. Mr. Leonard J. Buck developed the garden in the 1930s as part of his estate. In 1975, the garden was donated to the Somerset County Park Commission by his wife, Mrs. Helen Buck.
