What better way to honor this profound genius than to perform his final symphony, a work that has been celebrated in the farthest reaches of the globe and embraced by millions upon millions of enthralled listeners: Symphony No. 9 in D Minor, known throughout the world as the Ode to Joy. It is almost impossible to comprehend that the work was written by a composer who was deaf during both the writing of the piece and his conducting of its premiere performance.

The program will also include some shorter works to add variety: the wild and frenzied Witches Sabbath chorus from the opera Mefistofele by Arrigo Boito, plus Prokofiev’s Violin Concerto No. 1 featuring guest concert violinist Sasha Yakub.

Maestro Jun Nakabayashi will conduct the fully-professional orchestra and soloists. This not-to-be-missed event will take place in a venue that is totally suitable in every way for this master work: the historic, beloved and acoustically fabulous Tarrytown Music Hall!

Tickets are ONLY available from the Tarrytown Music Hall and can be purchased online, by phone or at the door. A wide range of prices are available ($49 - $84) depending on seating; $7 senior discount; $20 for students for all seats at the door. BEWARE of ON-LINE TICKET SCAMS (don’t use .com’s)
