Maria Schwartzman Webb was raised in Columbus, Indiana. She graduated from Columbus East in 2006, DePauw University in 2010, and George Washington University in 2013. She currently teaches computer science at DePauw University and is a photographer specializing in landscape, nightscape, and travel photography. Schwartzman is passionate about all things space- and sky-related. She has personally witnessed one total solar eclipse (2017), one partial solar annular eclipse (2023), and three lunar eclipses (total 2019/2022, partial 2021).
