More About Swiss & German Springfest

Join us for a Swiss & German Springfest (Frühlingfest) in Pekin, Illinois on Sunday, May 17th from 12pm-7pm at the Avanti’s Event Center, 3401 Griffin Drive, Pekin, Illinois. Pekin has a rich Swiss and German History and we would like you to join us for a day of culture, German food, music, drink, and entertainment. Admission is free.

Entertainment will feature Grammy Award nominee, Eddie Korosa, Jr. from 12:30 to 4:00pm and his band from Terry Bredenberg on the accordion from 4:15 on. The Lindenhof Echos (alphorns) will also perform at around 2:00 pm.

There will be a German Car and Motorcycle Cruis’n starting at 12pm. Special parking area for participants. All driver’s participating will receive a $5 food coupon to be used that day. Arts and Crafters will be on site selling items. To participate in the craft show, please contact Brian Wonders at (309) 346-3663 or email brian@avantisdome.com. A 10 ft by 10 ft spot is only $30 for the day!

German food will be available for purchase: pork schnitzel, bratwurst, frankfurters (hotdogs), German potato salad, sauerkraut, red cabbage, German green beans and apfel kuchen. Make sure you get your Bavarian pretzels with our fabulous obatzda cheese spread! Food will be served until 6pm unless we run out.

The cash bar will feature a number of German beer selections.

The event is being hosted by Harmonie-Concordia, an affiliate of the Peoria German American Society, and the Avanti’s Event Center. Additional sponsors include Drew Eilts with Edward Jones in Pekin, the Friends of Friedrichshafen, GlobalFest of Central Illinois and the Tazewell County Genealogy and Historical Society.

We currently only accept cash and checks for food. An ATM is on site.
