This voting will conclude at 6:30 PM during the public artists reception to be held on Friday, February 1st from 5:30-7:00 PM in the main gallery.

    - To celebrate our 20th Year Anniversary, the Broadview Heights Spotlights will be holding a Gala Fundraiser at St. Sava’s Event Center located at 2151 W. Wallings Road in Broadview Heights.

    With all of the excitement and anticipation for this event, we believe it will sell out so please consider getting your tickets soon. The gala will feature a fabulous dinner, beer & wine bar, live entertainment, Chinese raffle, silent auction, and a 50/50 raffle. Overnight from Sunday, Jan. 20, 2019, into Monday, Jan. 21, millions of people in North and South America will have a prime view of a total lunar eclipse. During a special nocturnal hour, the full moon will become fully tinted with the red-orange color of sunset.

    The Jan. 21 total lunar eclipse will be the last one until May 2021, and the last one visible from the United States until 2022; the most recent total lunar eclipse previous to this one appeared in July 2018.

  • - The Broadview Heights Spotlights Theater's annual Coffee House show opens February 1, 2019. Show dates are Fridays and Saturdays, Feb. 1-16 at 7:30 PM and Sunday, Feb. 10 at 3:00 PM. "A Grand Night for Singing" will be presented at the Spotlights Theater located on the Broadview Center campus, 9543 Broadview Road (next to the Police Station). Taste and imagination, the two key ingredients for a first-rate revue, abound in this fresh take on the Rodgers & Hammerstein canon. With innovative musical arrangements, it leaves no question about how terrifically up-to-date the remarkable songs of Rodgers & Hammerstein remain. The show is directed by Ryan Bergeron and features Tim Anderson, Adam Bowers, Stephanie Malfara, Pam Matthews, and Peggy Newton.

    The event features a complimentary beverage bar (non-alcoholic) and an extended intermission in a coffee house setting with luscious desserts available for purchase. Coffee House sponsors include Michael Angelo’s Bakery, Caruso’s Coffee, and Creekside Cafe.

    ​Resin Casting is a method of plastic casting where a mold is filled with a liquid synthetic resin, which then hardens. Resin casting and bezel setting will be a 2 class session. This session will allow you to make 3 necklaces.
    Week 1 - Design and casting. You will learn how to mix and cast a 2 part epoxy resin into cabochon trays, remove air bubbles, tint, and add additional elements as well as adding other details into your bezel tray to be sealed later.
    Week 2 - We will unmold our cabochons and set them into our bezel trays. You will leave with a finished piece of jewelry.​
    ​Elements such small photographs and charms may be brought in for further personalization.

    ​Creativity and Healing through Art
    The healing qualities and spiritual empowerment often associated with journal writing, as well as image making, are joined together in the process of making a Visual Journal. A visual journal is part sketchbook/scrapbook, part journal and definitely a work of art when completed. Learn to create your own visual journal using a specialized process combining the healing qualities of visual paintings created by the print-making process of mono-printing combined with the written word. These mono-prints are "harvested" using various art techniques and embellished with watercolors, ink, color pencil, pastel, and collage.
