More About Youth Acting & Performance Program (Ages 8–18)
Western Reserve Playhouse is inviting young performers to step into the magical world of Oz this August with the launch of Young Artists' Theatre: The Oz Series, a new theatre education program for students ages 8–18.
The first production in the series, Dorothy and the Wonderful Wizard, introduces participants to a world beyond the familiar Yellow Brick Road through an original theatrical adaptation inspired by the beloved Oz books of L. Frank Baum.
More than a theatre class, the program combines arts education with the experience of producing a fully staged live performance. Students will develop acting, storytelling, collaboration, and performance skills while rehearsing alongside the Western Reserve Playhouse artistic team before presenting the show for public audiences.
Rehearsals will be held Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 4:00–6:00 PM, August 3–28, 2026. The program concludes with two public performances:
Saturday, August 29 at 7:00 PM
Sunday, August 30 at 2:00 PM
Enrollment is $100, with registration open now through August 1, 2026.
