About The Board of Visitors Ryan House

Ryan House is a 12,500 sq. foot facility built to provide pediatric respite, palliative, and end-of-life care as well as appropriate therapies and activities in a supportive, home-like setting. Ryan House has eight, creatively-themed cabins (bedrooms) for children. Families are always welcome to stay in one of three family suites. Kids, families and volunteers have fun in the great room, the S’mores Café family kitchen and dining room, and a colorful and fun wheelchair- friendly playground. Specialized therapies are housed in the Swimming Hole (indoor hydrotherapy pool), Sensory Tent, Creative U, Do’Re’Mi’ Music Room, and the Story of Me multi-media legacy-building room. Sanctuary and memorial gardens provide quiet, peaceful spaces for reflection, remembrance and celebrations of life because life is not determined by length but by how many happy moments we spent with those we love.

Ryan House is an innovative and national model for the delivery of pediatric palliative and respite care. Since opening its doors in 2010, it remains the only free-standing facility of its kind in the Southwest and just one of two in the United States. The need for Ryan House services is huge. Nearly 5,000 families in Maricopa County could benefit from our care; nationally, more than 500,000 children have a life-limiting condition. Currently there is no reimbursement for the palliative and respite services Ryan House provides. At Ryan House, we hope to create a replicable model of world-class caregiving that provides respite and palliative care for children and their families as they navigate life-limiting or end-of-life journeys.

If you're uncertain about your event, please feel free to contact your local publisher to inquire about his or her policies prior to posting.

Remember too that we are a family friendly organization and reserve the right to reject any events that we deem inappropriate for our calendar or online media tools.
