More About Lori's Natural Foods Center

"For high-quality, healthy food and natural supplements in Rochester, NY, shop at Lori's Natural Food Center. For more than 35 years, Lori's Natural Food Center has provided their community with fresh, local produce and organic foods. With a commitment to customer satisfaction and community health, you can trust this family-owned business for all of your nutritional needs.

Lori's Natural Food Center was opened in 1981 by Lori and her father, Jim Starks. For many years, Jim and his wife tended to a backyard garden where they grew their own produce. It was there that they developed a love for freshly-grown organic vegetables and fruit. When the opportunity arose to purchase an existing vitamin shop, Jim and Lori took the plunge and purchased the space. Over time, Jim and Lori expanded the store, and it is now a 14,700 square foot grocery store carrying a wide array of GMO-free and natural foods, produce, supplements, and more.

The fruits and vegetables sold at Lori's Natural Food Center are all free of GMOs and grown organically by local community farmers. In addition to only selling organic, locally-grown fruits and vegetables, they also sell organic meat and run an organic deli. The ultimate goal of Lori's Natural Food Center is to be a fully GMO-free grocery store, and they are continuously making strides to get there. In 2015, Lori's Natural Food Center also made the bold decision to no longer carry any products that contained soy, corn, canola, sugar beets, or alfalfa unless they were verified organic and non-GMO. These foods are among the most genetically modified, so it was important to the staff at Lori's that they only carry these foods if they are as healthy as possible.

In addition to carrying fresh, healthy produce, Lori's Natural Food Center also sells 10,000 herbs and supplements from more than 200 brands. Their foods and snacks feature gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian, vegan, and raw-vegan options.
