The Gurnee American Legion Post 771 holds a monthly meeting for current members and warmly welcomes all new members, as well as all armed service members and veterans in the community. These gatherings serve as a vital hub for camaraderie, updates on post activities, and discussions on ways to continue serving veterans and the local community. It's a great opportunity to connect with fellow service members, share experiences, and learn more about how to get involved.

More About American Legion Post 771
The Legion is about veterans who continue to serve their country by seeking to serve to fellow veterans, and by seeking to foster and perpetuate the ideals which made this country great. If you are currently an active duty military member, or if you served at least one day of active duty military time during any of the periods listed below and were honorably discharged, you are eligible to become a member of The American Legion.
If you have served federal active duty in the United States Armed Forces since December 7, 1941, and have been honorably discharged or are still serving - you are eligible for membership in The American Legion!
**U.S. Merchant Marine eligible only from December 7, 1941, to December 31, 1946 (WWII).
*Because eligibility dates remain open, all members of the U.S. Armed Forces are eligible to join The American Legion at this time, until the date of the end of hostilities as determined by the government of the United States.
