More About Night Without a Bed
Lunch Break and Family Promise proudly announce their collaboration in hosting the annual "Night Without a Bed" fundraiser on Friday, May 3-4, 2024, from 6 PM - 8 AM at the Fort Athletic Club in Oceanport, NJ.
Alarming statistics revealed a 17% increase in New Jersey's homeless population in 2023, with approximately 200 children facing homelessness on any given night in Monmouth County alone. In response to this pressing issue, Lunch Break and Family Promise encourage community participation in an innovative fundraising initiative to secure essential funds for programs supporting homeless families in need.
Participants of "Night Without A Bed" are invited to create a $150.00 (or more) digital fundraising campaign and experience sleeping in a box on-site at the Fort Athletic Club on May 3. Constructing makeshift cardboard homes that replicate homelessness conditions in a safe environment, individuals will engage in a unique opportunity to learn, hear inspiring stories and advocate for a future where everyone has a safe place to sleep.
