The Evening Docket is a monthly gathering for Cedar Rapids' legal community — a standing reservation, on the third Thursday of every month, for the conversation that doesn't happen across a conference table. Partners, associates, in-house counsel, paralegals, judges, and the people who keep their offices running gather at The Ideal Theater & Bar in NewBo from 4 to 7 PM to trade the fluorescent light for something warmer.
Inside the 1914 theater, the bar is open and the room is set for the kind of evening that earns its name — low light, considered cocktails, a curated soundtrack, and just enough space between the booths and the bar to make introductions easy and exits graceful. Come from the office. Bring a colleague, a client, a worthy adversary, or no one at all. Order something proper. Stay as long as the conversation holds.
No program. No name tags. No agenda beyond good company in a room built for it.
