Sometimes, to find yourself, you must first burn everything you thought you knew.
Karl had it all; a husband, a house in the Los Angeles Hills, professional success - it was a life few could ever know. But when his marriage suddenly ended, his perfect life and entire sense of self were shattered. Karl’s struggle though, didn’t end with the death of his relationship.
It was merely the beginning…
He faced a legal battle that threatened everything he had and soon found himself working non-stop, leading to a downward spiral filled with sleepless nights and days of rage, fear, and depression that he barely understood.

About Karl Dunn
Karl Dunn has enjoyed a multi-award winning career over two decades in advertising in Sydney, Singapore, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Johannesburg, Cape Town, Amsterdam, Berlin, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. He has been the global lead on MINI Cooper, Levi’s, and ASICS - and usually the only LGBTQ+ person in the boardroom.
Karl lives between LA and Berlin working as a freelance advertising writer/consultant to several auto, fashion, lifestyle, and finance clients, especially on their LGBTQ+ endeavors like Pride.
He wrote a memoir about his divorce from his ex-husband, which has led to him keynote speaking on Divorce Reform as a mental health issue in the workplace, and Same-Sex Divorce. Karl is also an advocate for LGBTQ+ representation in the media and community-based capitalism.
