More About The Fig Tree's Gala 40th Anniversary Celebration

“Sharing Stories: Empowering People” is the theme for The Fig Tree’s Gala 40th Anniversary Celebration, which will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Sunday, April 28, at the Cathedral of St. John, 127 E. 12th Ave.
Karen Georgia Thompson, the first African-American woman to be president and general minister of the national United Church of Christ and a member of the Central Committee of the World Council of Churches, will be the featured speaker.
When invited, she did not hesitate. She’s a Fig Tree reader.
Tickets for the gala will be $50 and there is opportunity for guests to be event and archival project sponsors.
