This shop has been a part of our family in some capacity since around 2017 when Mary Beth (mom and 2nd from the left) first became a frequent customer when Lora and John Matuska owned the shop. After frequenting the shop so often to see all the new goodies that come in often, Lora invited Mary Beth to work for the shop.
Mary Beth started working for Sweet Home around 2018. Occasionally throughout the years, Andrew (son and first on the left) would work for the shop to lend a hand during busy times. Maghan (daughter and first on the right) helped the shop establish an online presence when the pandemic first started to help the shop remain open by offering online sales. Craig (dad and second from the right) would come in to check out new items in the man cave and other unique handmade items.
All the while, Mary Beth became very close friends with John and Lora, and expressed interest in buying the shop one day so John and Lora could be one step closer to their dream of retiring in a castle in France.
Our family became the new owners and took over the shop on January 1, 2024 with the continued mentorship and support from John and Lora.
We're beyond thrilled to call Sweet Home Indiana our home away from home and our favorite part is meeting new customers and seeing the friendly faces of our beloved returning customers.
